Privacy policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain terms, what 24hoursintheterminal.com collects when you visit (very little), what stays on your device, and how to get in touch.

What this site collects

24 Hours in the Terminal is a set of free guides. It has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts, and it sets no cookies. We do not ask you for personal information, and we do not collect it on purpose.

The rest of this policy explains the few things that do happen when you visit: standard server logs, a small note saved in your own browser, and links to other sites.

Log files

Like almost every website, the servers that host this site keep standard log files. These record the IP address, browser type, date and time, and the pages requested for each visit. They are used to keep the site running, fix problems and spot abuse. They are not used to build profiles of visitors or to show you advertising, and we do not combine them with any other information about you.

Your reading progress

The homepage and guides let you mark an hour as read and show how many of the 24 you have finished. That list of hours is saved in your browser using local storage, under the name 24hitt-read-v1. It stays on your device: it is never sent to us or to anyone else.

It is not a cookie and nothing else is stored. You can clear it at any time with the "Reset progress" link on the homepage, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Cookies and third-party content

This site does not set cookies and does not load advertising, analytics, social media or tracking code from other companies. The IBM Plex Mono typeface is served from this site, so your browser does not contact Google or any font service to display it.

The "Copy" buttons next to commands write to your clipboard when you press them. Nothing is read from your clipboard and nothing is sent anywhere.

Your rights and contacting us

Andy Stubbs is the data controller for this site. Because we hold almost no personal information, there is usually nothing to access or delete, but if you are in the UK or the European Economic Area you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Have it corrected or deleted
  • Object to or restrict how it is used
  • Receive a copy of it in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on it

To ask a question or make a request, email invisibleloop@gmail.com. If you email us, we will use your address only to reply.

Children's information

Protecting children online is important to us. This site is aimed at a general audience and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please email invisibleloop@gmail.com and we will remove it promptly.

Scope and changes

This policy applies only to this website. It does not cover information collected offline or through other channels.

If we change how the site works, for example by adding analytics or advertising, we will update this policy first and change the date below.
